Bragging right for boys’ golf honors in Palo Alto County reside with the Emmetsburg’s E-Hawks.

Coach Kort Freeman’s E-Hawks captured the team and medalist honors in the Palo Alto County Boys Golf Meet Friday afternoon at the Five Island Golf Course in Emmetsburg.

The E-Hawks would best the field on a blustery day, shooting a 175 team score. Graettinger-Terril-Ruthven-Ayrshire was second with a 189 stroke total and West Bend-Mallard was third with a 198 team total.

Medalist honors went to the E-Hawks’ Michael Myers with a round of 42, A three-way tie for runner up between Emmetsburg’s Michael Pugh, Nick Schany and GT/RA’s Dylan Smith was resolved by handicap hole, with Pugh earning the runner-up medal honors.

For Emmetsburg, Myers’ round of 42 led the effort, which was followed by the 44-stroke rounds of Pugh and Schany. Jake Jackson and Taylor Wegner both shot rounds of 45 and Luke Jackson rounded out the effort with a 52.

For GT/RA, Dylan Smith led the way with his round of 44, which was followed by Kyle Dalen with a 45. Blaze Alesch and Mitch Girres both shot rounds of 50. Ethan Peterson shot a 56, while Kevin Smith carded a 58.

West Bend-Mallard was led by the 46 of Brady Jenson, while Chris Schmidt carded a round of 47. Tony Bruellman shot a 52, wile Zach Marsch carded a 53. Matt Goeders shot a round of 55 and Kolten Goodchild rounded out the effort with a round of 58.
