Emmetsburg Hosts Clint Stille E-Hawk Relays
You couldn’t have asked for better conditions for the Clint Stille E-Hawk Relays on Tuesday night. With temperatures in the 70’s, sunny skies and alight breeze, the action was intense in all three divisions of competition.
In Class A, Algona took the top honors with Emmetsburg finishing third behind the Bulldogs and Spirit Lake Park, with Bishop Garrigan placing fourth and Estherville Lincoln Central taking fifth place.
Clay Central-Everly took first place honors in Class B and was followed by West Bend-Mallard/Gilmore City-Bradgate, the Spencer JV in third and Graettinger-Terril/Ruthven-Ayrshire fourth.
Class C competition for Other Junior Varsity and Freshmen saw Algona place first, followed by Bishop Garrigan, ELC, Spirit Lake Park, Emmetsburg, Spencer Freshmen and Clay Central-Everly.
For the E-Hawk varsity, the Shuttle Hurdle Relay squad took first place honors with a time of 1:00.56 and Cody Henderson won the 110 hurdle event with a :15.66 clocking.
Andrew Wellik took second place in the 200 meter dash with a time of :23.51 and Chad Loomis took second in the 400 hurdles with his time of :58.71.
Brady Berkland placed third in the 100 meter dash with a time of :11:26 and third in the 200 meter dash in :24.11, while Clayton Henderson earned third place finishes in the 110 hurdles with a :16.47 and the 400 hurdles in 1:00.49.
The E-Hawks’ 4×100 relay unit placed third with a time of :45.01 and the 4×400 relay earned third place with its’ 3:52.92 clocking.
Brady Christensen earned a fourth place finish in the 100 meter dash with an :11.29 effort and Jacob Hutchinson would earn fifth place in the discus competition with his throw of 118’6″.
The E-Hawk 4×200 relay finished fourth in a time of 1:34.96. The 4×800 relay squad earned fifth place with a 10:22.76 effort and the Distance Medley also placed fifth with a 4:29.39.
Arik Kerr would finish seventh in the shot put, coming away with a throw of 39’6.5″, while teammate Jacob Hutchinson finished eighth in the shot by throwing 38’9″.
Clayton Henderson earned eighth place in the long jump with a leap of 17’10.75″, while Austin Lietz finished eighth in the 1600 meter run in a time of 5:22.17. Rounding out the E-Hawk varsity efforts were Joel Hoyman and Daniel VanOosbree in the 800 meter run, as Hoyman finished eighth in 2:35.03 and VanOosbree earned ninth place in a time of 2:43.48.
For the E-Hawk Junior Varsity, Brandon Elbert would earn first place honors in the 110 hurdles with his time of :17.72.
The JV 4×100 relay took second place with a time of :50.34, while the 4×200 relay also placed second in a time of 1:42.68. The JV Shuttle Hurdle relay also earned second place honors with a time of 1:08.12.
Patrick Brennan took seventh in the JV?shot put with a throw of 35’10”, while Michael Woodruff would finish 13th with his throw of 24’10” and Nick Jackson earned 11th place in the JV?discus with a throw of 67’1″.
In the Class B competition, the Raiders of Ruthven-Ayrshire-Graettinger-Terril were paced by a second place finish in the 4×800 relay with their time of 9:28.89. The Raiders also got a fifth place finish in the 800 meter run from Tanner Naig with his time of 2:43.41, while Jon Georgopolous placed sixth in the 200 meter dash with a time of :28.51 and then finished seventh in the 100 meter dash with a time of :12.71.
The Wolverines of West Bend-Mallard/Gilmore City-Bradgate won all six relay events, starting with the 4×100 in a time of :47.51, while the 4×200 relay won in 1:38.10. The 4×400 turned in a 3:52.35 clocking, with the 4×800 finishing in 8:53.60. The Shuttle Hurdle won with a 1:08.48 and the Distance Medley finished with a 3:56.11.
Mitch Bonnstetter won the 200 meter dash in :24.29 and Jack Fehr won the 3200 meter run in 12:00.12, while Jesse Zinnel won the 1600 meter run in 4:54.65 and the 800 meters in 2:13.38.
Jason Zinnel took second in the 1600 in 5:11.79 and Sean Riesenberg was second in the 110 hurdles with an :18.31 clocking. Mitch Bonnstetter took second in the 100 meter dash with an :11.14 while Dustin Johnson took third in the 400 hurdles with a 1:02.40 clocking.
Jason Zinnel placed third in the 800 meter run in 2:20.14, while Nathan Grimm placed third in the 400 meter dash with :56.73 effort. Davey Jergens would place fourth in the 200 meter dash with a :24.99, while Collin Thatcher was fourth in the 440 hurdles in 1:03.04 and Jack Fehr placed sixth in the 400 meter dash with his time of 1:05.18 to round out the Wolverines’ efforts on the day.
