Wolverines Compete At Iowa Great Lakes Relays
SPIRIT LAKE The Wolverines of West Bend-Mallard/Gilmore City-Bradgate finished fourth in the Iowa Great Lakes Relays at Spirit Lake on Tuesday, April 17. The Wolverines would claim five first-place finishes in the Class B competition of the event.
Once again, Mitch Bonnstetter would capture a pair of first place finishes on the night, starting with the 100 meter dash with a time of :12.18 and the 200 meter dash in :24.5. Also earning first place finishes were the 4×800 relay, comprised of Nathan Grimm, Jason ZInnel, Dustin Johnson and Aaron Montag, finished with an 8:55.1 for first, while the 4×200 relay with Collin Thatcher, Davey Jergens, Jordan Buhs and Bonnstetter also earned first with a time of 1:38.6 and the Medley Relay, with Jergens, Buhs, Grimm and Montag finished in 3:56.3 for a first place finish.
Jesse Zinnel took second in the 1600 meter run with a 5:03 effort and the 4×100 relay, with Thatcher, Jergens, Buhs and Bonnstetter took second in a time of :48.2
The Shuttle hurdle relay, with Thatcher, Johnson, Jergens and Sean Riesenberg, finished third in 1:09.6, while Jesse Zinnel earned thirds in the 3200 meter run in 10:57 and the 800 meter run in 2:16.
The 4×400 relay, comprised of Grimm, Riesenberg, Thatcher and Montag finished fourth in 3:53, while Jack Fehr took fifth in the 3200 meter run with a time of 11:39. Jason Zinnel took fifth in the 1600 meter run with a time of 5:09, while Sean Riesenberg turned in a 1:05 time in the 400 hurdles for a fifth place finish.
Rounding out the finishes was Sean Riesenberg in the 110 hurdles with his time of :18.2 for a sixth place finish.
