Lady E-Hawks Have Strong Showing At Pocahontas
POCAHONTAS Emmetsburg’s Lady E-Hawks collected a first place finish in a relay event at the Pocahontas Relays on Tuesday, April 17. Improvements in times and placings were the result of some strong efforts by the Lady E-Hawk thinclads.
Emmetsburg’s 4×200 relay, with the foursome of Jayme Penrod, Mikki Mundus, Emily Bonnstetter and Alexa Naig, turned in a time of 1:57.43 to capture the first place award in the Class B competition. A pair of second place finishes came from the 4×400 relay, comprised of Alexa Naig, Maura Soukup, Emily Bonnstetter and Caroline Fantz, with their 4:39.08 clocking and the 4×100 relay, made up of Alexa Naig, Alyson Berven, Jayme Penrod and Hadley Egland, came up with a time of 1:20.40 for their second place finish.
The Lady E-Hawks’ 4×800 relay, comprised of Maura Soukup, Madison Reimer, Tara Harris and Taylor Reimer, finished third with a 12:20.27 clocking and the Distance Medley Relay also earned a third place as the foursome of Jayme Penrod, Alexa Naig, Emily Bonnstetter and Caroline Fantz came away with a 4:54.69 time. Also earning a third place finish were the Sprint Medley Relay, comprised of Jayme Penrod, Mikki Mundus, Emily Bonnstetter and Caroline Fantz with their time of 2:04.22, while the 4×100 relay, with Hadley Egland, Alyson Berven, Mikki Mundus and Rachel Ruddy, was clocked at :56.18 to take third and Tara Harris earned third in the 1500 meter run with a time of 6:12.67.
Taylor Reimer earned a fourth place in the 800 meter run with her time of 2:47.45, while Hadley Egland turned in a :17.82 in the 100 meter hurdles for a fourth place finish. Mikki Mundus also earned a fourth place finish in the 100 meter dash with a time of :13.74 and Rachel Ruddy took fourth in the long jump with a leap of 13’5″.
Jacque Carlson would earn a fifth place finish in the discus with a throw of 84’5″ while Alyson Berven placed sixth in the 100 meter hurdles with her time of :18.59 and Madison Reimer also earned a sixth place in the 200 meter dash with a time of :33.10. Jacque Carlson would place sixth in the shot put by throwing the orb 27’9.5″ and Madison Reimer closed out the efforts with a ninth place finish in the 100 meter dash with her time of :15.15.
