Kliegl To Play At Northwestern

ORANGE CITY – An Emmetsburg High School basketball standout has signed an National Letter of Intent to continue his basketball career at Northwestern College staring this Fall.

Ryan Kliegl, the son of Bob and Rhonda Kliegl of Emmetsburg, is a 6’2″ point guard who lettered three years for Coach Mike Brennan and the Emmetsburg E-Hawk basketball team.

Kliegl was a unanimous first team all-conference selection his senior year after averaging 12 points and 5.2 rebounds per game last season. Kliegl He ranked sixth in the state of Iowa, averaging seven assists per game, and helped lead his team to a 15-9 record. Kliegl plans to major in Political Science at Northwestern and is the son of Bob and Rhonda.

“Ryan led his team to the district championship game,” commented Northwestern Head men’s basketball coach Kris Korver. “He is quick, long, and athletic and he loves to compete. Ryan makes the players around him better and we are excited to have him join us at Northwestern.”
