Lady Wolverines Continue To Run Strong

WEST?BEND – After a strong performance in their opening meet of the season, the ladies of West Bend-Mallard/Gilmore City-Bradgate kept up their intensity by winning 12 events at the Clay Central-Everly Maverick Relays on April 3 at Spencer.

The 4×800 relay, with Sarah Berte, Alicia Mogler, Ashely Schmidt and Portlind Schmidt took first, along with the shuttle hurdle relay, comprised of Rachel Wirtz, Heather Fehr, Wendy Grimm and Kayla Banwart.

Also taking first place was the 4×200 relay, comprised of Harrison Schmidt, Madelynn Gehrt, Meredith Collins and Kaley Lempke. The 4×100 relay, with Harrison Schmidt, Meredith Collins, Kaley Lempke and Kenzie Grimm claimed first place honors and the 4×400 relay, featuring Ashley Schmidt, Harrison Schmidt, Kaley Lempke and Sarah Berte also captured first place honors.

Meredith Collins won the 100 meter dash and Rachel Wirtz took first place in the 100 meter hurdles. Portlind Schmidt was first in the 800 meter run, while Kenzie Grimm took first in the 200 meter dash, Portlind Schmidt was first in the 1500 meter run and Jessica Abrahamson took first place in both the shot put and discus.

Earning second place finishes were Kayla Banwart in the long jump and Rachel Wirtz in the 400 meter hurdles, while the Sprint Medley, with Meredith Collins, Kenzie Grimm, Ashely Schmidt and Madelynn Gehrt took second place.

Lauren Thatcher was second in the 3000 meter run, while Madelyn Gehrt was the 100 meter dash and Kenzie Grimm took second in the 400 meter run.

Ashley Schmidt finished third in the 400 and Kaley Lempke took third in the 200 meter dash, while Kayla Banwart was fourth in the 100 hurdles and Sarah Berte was fourth in the 800 meter run.

The Distance Medley of Kayla Banwart, Wendy Grimm, Heather Fehr and Alicia Mogler was fifth, along with Heather Fehr in the 400 hurdles and Wendy Grimm in the long jump and discus.
