E-Hawks Run Well At Charlie Bunn Relays

HUMBOLDT – A pair of relay victories and a first place individual finish highlighted the Emmetsburg E-Hawks’ appearance at the Charlie Bunn Relays in Humboldt on Thursday, April 5.

Senior Chad Loomis would capture top honors in the 400 meter hurdles with a time of :59.09 to pace the individual efforts for Coach Tyler Beving’s thinclads.

The E-Hawk shuttle hurdle relay would take first place honors with a time of 1:01.23 and the 4×200 relay would also capture first place with a time of 1:35.47.

The E-Hawk 4×100 relay finished third with a time of :45.22 while Brady Christensen tied for fifth place in the 100 meter dash with a time of :11.86, while Andrew Wellik took fifth in the 200 meter dash with a time of :23.84.

Emmetsburg’s Distance Medley relay earned a fifth place finish with a time of 4:12.57, while the 4×400 relay finished sixth in a time of 4:01.55.

Brady Berkland finished seventh in the 200 meter dash in :24.03, while Andrew Garrelts earned ninth place in the discus with a throw of 116’9″ and then finished tenth in the shot put with his throw of 41’1″. Jake Hutchinson placed tenth in the discus with a throw of 115’10”, while Cody Henderson was tenth in the long jump, leaping 16’8″.

Austin Lietz finished 11th in the 1600 meter run with a time of 5:20.47, while Brady Garrelts finished 12th in the 400 hurdles with a time of 1:08.44. Arik Kerr took 12th in the shot put with a heave of 38’4.5″.

Wesley Brennan would take 12th place in the 800 meter run with a time of 2:36.05 and Daniel VanOosbree finished 13th in the 800 with a time of 2:49.30. Wesley Brennan closed out the varsity finishes with a time of 5:34.78 in the 1600 meter run.

The E-Hawks return to the track this afternoon (Tuesday) when they run at Spirit Lake. Then on Friday, the E-Hawk thinclads will journey north to Estherville to run in the Estherville Relays at Hoyt Luithly Field.
