Knight Grapplers Split At Mason NW Webster

MANSON – The Graettinger-Terril/Ruthven-Ayrshire wrestling team earned a split in a double dual wreslted Jan. 24 in Manson.

Coach Cody Alesch’s Knights opened the night with a convincing 60-12 victory over the Cardinals of Garner-Hayfield. But in the second duel, the Knights fell to Manson Northwest Webster by a 43-21 margin.

In their duel with Garner-Hayfield, the Knights got wins from Austin Thompson at 120 pouns as he pinned A.J. Arnold in 2:59 of their match. At 132 pounds, Ty Gibson earned a 1:12 win by fall over Colby Reed and at 152 pounds, Tym Hart needed just :42 to pin Steen Jepsen.

The Knights also got a 3:46 win by fall from Quinn Parker, as he pinned Corey Dodd in action at 170 pounds.

Graettinger-Terril /Ruthven-Ayrshire would receive a batch of forfeit wins, as Tyler Dalen at 113, Connor Tonderum at 126 and Trent Lundgren at 145 pounds all received the wins, as did Matt McGrauth at 160, Kyle Long at 182 and Cody Thompson at 195 pounds.

The Knights would issue forfeits to Garner-Hayfield in the 106 and 138 pound weight classes and there was a double forfeit at 285.

In the nightcap with the Cougars of Manson Northwest Webster, the Knights would only earn a trio of match victories.

Ty Gibson would win an 8-7 decisioh over Cody Blair in action at 132 pounds, while Tym Hart earned a 1:38 win by fall over Connor Alne in the 152 pound match. And at 195 pounds, Cody Thompson pinned Nick Christnagel in 1:42 of their match.

At 120 pounds, Austin Thompson lost a 4-2 decision to Dylan Dorage and at 126 pounds, Connor Tonderum lost a 17-7 Major Decision to Caleb Smothers.

Trent Lundgren would end up on the wrong side of a 4-2 decision to Payton Rice in action at 145 pounds and Matt McGrauth lost a 4-2 decision at the hands of Nathan Eastwood in the 160 pound match.

At 170 pounds, Quinn Parker was the victim of a 3:13 fall to Drake Harmon and at 182 pounds, Kyle Long was pinned by Alex Bush in 1:24 of their match.

The Knights’ Tyler Dalen received a win by forfeit at 113 pounds, but GT/Ra would forfeit at 138, 220 and 285 pounds to the Cougars for the 43-21 final score.
