By Staff | Jan 24, 2012

The subject of much conjecture and speculation over the winter, new football district alignments were released last week by the Iowa High School Athletic Association for the 2012-13 seasons.

For the Emmetsburg E-Hawks, Class 1A District One will feature the E-Hawks and old foe Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn, along with North Sentral Kossuth-Armstrong-Ringsted, South O’Brien, Okoboji of Milford, Western Christian of Hull and Gehlen Catholic of LeMars.

As there are just seven teams in the district a bye week game will have Emmetsburg playing Manson Northwest Webster.

The Eight-Man District Two field will feature West Bend-Mallard/Gilmore City-Bradgate, along with the newly formed Graettinger-Terril/Ruthven-Ayrshire Knights, as well as Northeast Hamilton-Blairsburg, CAL-Latimer, Corwith-Wesley-LuVerne, North Iowa of Buffalo Center and Laurens-Marathon.

The IHSAA?will now develop schedules for all of the state’s teams, with the schedules being released in the next few weeks.
