GRAETTINGER – The boys basketball season got off to a start Friday night with the traditional Boys Jamboree, hosted by the Ruthven-Ayrshire/Graettinger/Terril Raiders at Graettinger.

A pair of scrimmages were played, featuring Estherville Lincoln Central taking on Bishop Garrigan and the host Raiders taking on North Sentral Kossuth/Armstrong-Ringsted.

In the Raiders scrimmage, RA/GT would earn a 20-18 victory over NSK/AR in a back-and-forth battle over two quarters. The Raiders held a slim, 11-10 lead after the first quarter of play and held on down the stretch to claim the 20-18 win.

Ruthven-Ayrshire/Graettinger-Terril was led by Dylan Smith’s nine point effort, while Garrett Parker added five points. Mitch Girres, Dylan Fisher and Austin Dyer all added two points to the effort.

The Raiders open their regular season tonight (Tuesday) as they travel to West Bend to take on Cornbelt Conference rivals West Bend-Mallard/Gilmore City-Bradgate in a boy-girl doubleheader.
