LeMars Blanks Lady E-Hawks In Lakes Volleyball Action
Emmetsburg put up a good effort in a 3-0 match loss to LeMars Thursday night in Lakes Conference volleyball action. The loss gives Emmetsburg a 0-3 mark on the season in league match play.
The Lady E-Hawks, who lost the services of junior Whitney Kibbie for the rest of the season to knee injury in action Tuesday, fell to the Bulldogs in straight sets by scores of 13-25, 11-25 and 18-25.
Shelby Brindley and Paige Naig would lead the Emmetsburg serving effort with eight of eight serve completions and two aces each. Jacque Carlson added seven of seven serve completions with a pair of aces and Jayme Penrod made seven of seven serves as well. Miranda Vlasman chipped in five of six serves, while Britni Will made three of four serves and Alexa Naig made two of three serves in her varsity debut.
At the net, Jayme Penrod made 13 of 16 hits with two kills, while Paige Naig added 11 of 11 hits with four kills. Jacque Carlson made eight of nine hits with a pair of kills and Miranda Vlasman made five of seven hits with two kills. Tegan Olson rounded out the effort with four of six hits with one kill.
Jayme Penrod would dig out six shots on the night while Miranda Vlasman made four digs. Paige Naig and Jacque Carlson both had three digs, while Shelby Brindley and Alexa Naig each dug out two shots.
Shelby Brindley would dish out nine set assists to her teammates with Alexa Naig making two assists.
