E-Hawk Football Camp Approaching

By Staff | Jul 19, 2011

A sure sign that the school year is rapidly approaching is the annual Northwest Iowa Football Camp. The 2007 edition of the camp will run from Monday, August 1 through Thursday, August 4, at Emmetsburg High School.

The camp will again be divided into two sessions for all area athletes. The Middle School camp is designed for players who will enter the sixth through 8th grades, and will take to the turf daily from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m.

The High School camp is open to all area athletes entering grades nine through 12 and will run each evening from 6 to 8:15 p.m..

The purpose of the camp is to develop the techniques needed for athletes to be successful on the football field. The camp will stress fundamentals for offense, including quarterbacks, receivers, running backs and offensive linemen, as well as defense, including ends, interior linemen, linebackers and defensive secondary players. Emphasis will also be given to special teams, including kickoff, punting, extra points, field goals and center snaps.

Camp will be under the direction of Emmetsburg High School Head Football Coach MIke Dunlap and E-Hawk Defensive Coordinator Joe Carter. Also assisting will be Assistant Coaches Bruce Nelson, E-Hawk Sophomore Football Coach Dave Fog and E-Hawk Freshman Football Coach Tyler Beving.

Athletes wanting more information on the Northwest Iowa Football Camps, or wanting to register, can contact Mike Dunlap at 304 Lawler, Emmetsburg, or by calling 712-852-3383.
