E-Hawks Run Well At Spencer
SPENCER?- Emmetsburg’s E-Hawks would take three first place finishes at the Spencer Relays on Thursday, May 5. The E-Hawks would end up finishing second behind LeMars in the team race.
Cory Schultes led off the efforts with a :23.12 time in the 200 meter dash to win the event, while Austin Oppenheimer added a :59.04 clocking in the 400 meter hurdles to win the event.
Emmetsburg’s Shuttle Hurdle relay, with Jake Stubbs, Oppenheimer, Cody Henderson and Ryan Kliegl also won with their time of 1:01.09.
Ryan Kliegl would take second in the 110 high hurdles with a time of :15.32 and Jake Stubbs finished second in the 400 hurdles with a time of 1:00.60.
The 4×100 relay, with Stubbs, Kliegl, Brady Berkland and Schultes, took second in :45.92 and the 4×400 relay, with Schutles, Shay Mortenson, Andrew Wellik and Kliegl, took second with a 3:36.99 effort.
Cody Henderson placed third in the 110 high hurdles off his :15.68 clocking and Brady Berkland placed fourth in the long jump off his jump of 18′.5″. Allen Dunnick also placed fourth in the 1600 meter run with a time of 5:03.73.
Andrew Garrelts finished fifth in the discus, throwing the platter 118’10”, while Shay Mortenson was fifth in the 400 meter dash with a :55.32 time. Allen Jensen would turn in a time of :23.93 in the 200 meter dash to place fifth.
In the shot put, Andrew Garrelts was sixth with a 41’5.5″ throw and the Medley Relay of Berkland, Henderson, Chad Loomis and Dunnick, finished with a 4:08.82 to earn sixth place and round out Emmetsburg’s finishes.
