E-Hawks Fourth At Hackbarth Relays

ALGONA – Emmetsburg’s E-Hawk track team finished fourth at Tuesday’s Hackbarth Relays in Algona, earning several strong finishes as the regular season winds down.

Ryan Kliegl would win the 110 hurdles in :15.65, with teammate Cody Henderson placing second in :15.71. The Shuttle Hurdle Relay, with Jake Stubbs, Henderson, Austin Oppenheimer and Kliegl also took first place in a time of 1:01.40

The 4×200 relay, with Brady Berkland, Stubbs, Andrew Wellik and Cory Schultes took second in 1:33.66, while the 4×400 relay, with Schultes, Kliegl, Wellik and Chad Loomis took third in a time of 3:37.94.

Austin Oppenheimer finished third in the 400 hurdles in :58.70 and Allen Jensen was 10th in 1:03.11. Cory Schultes took third in the 200 meter dash in :23.45 and Brady Berkland was fourth in :23.96. Berkland also finished third in the long jump, leaping 18’11”, while Allen Jensen finished seventh with a leap of 18’2.5″.

Allen Dunnick earned fifth in the 800 meter run with a 2:15.04 and fifth in the 1600 meters with a 4:58.86. Austin Lietz was 12th in the 800 with a 2:31.56 time and ninth in the 1600 meters with a time of 5:33.21. Shay Mortenson would take fifth placed in the 400 meter dash with his time of :55.10 and Chad Loomis finished seventh with a time of :56.79.

Andrew Garrelts placed fifth in the shot put with a throw of 40’6.5″ and Arik Kerr placed 10th with a throw of 37′. The E-Hawks’ “Weight Room” 4×100 relay, comprised of Andrew Garrelts, Arik Kerr, Parimal Patel and Jake Hutchinson, would finish fifth with their time of :57.54.

The Distance Medley Relay, with Aaron Bird, Brandon Elbert, Shay Mortenson and Joe Jackson, would finish fifth with a time of 4:18.58. Brady Christensen earned sixth place in the 100 meter dash with a time of :12.26, while Jake Hutchinson placed seventh in the discus with a throw of 107’1″ and Aaron Bird rounded out the varsity placings with an 11th place finish in the 100 meter dash with a time of :12.71.
