Lady E-Hawks Battle Weather At Okoboji

MILFORD – Mother Nature did her best to level the playing field Monday at the Okoboji Relays, as steady rain made conditions miserable for all competitors, However, Emmetsburg’s Lady E-Hawks would persevere to earn a fourth-place finish in the team standings.

For Emmetsburg, several second place finishes were earned, starting with the 4×100 relay, with Jayme Penrod, Jordan Kerber, Nicole Leuer and Morgan Vlasman earning second with a :55.25 in their final tuneup before their appearance at the Drake Relays on Friday.

The shuttle hurdle relay, with Jordan Kerber, Aly Berven, Whitney Kibbie and Nicole Leuer, also took second with a 1:11.95 effort.

Nicole Leuer took second in the 100 hurdles with a :17.12 time and Whitney Kibbie was third with a :17.14 clocking. Jordan Kerber was second in the 100 meter dash with a time of :13.18 and Miranda Vlasman finished fifth in :13.71.

Morgan Vlasman placed third in the high jump, clearing 4’6” and the 4×200 relay, with Morgan Vlasman, Kaity Degen, Jordan Kerber and Nicole Leuer placed third with a 1:56.32 effort.

The 4×400 relay, with Whitney Kibbie, Kaitlin Weisbrod, Hadley Egland and Kaity Degen would finish in fifth place with a time of 4:48.71, while the 4×800 relay, with Madison Reimer, Taylor Reimer, Rachel Ruddy and Tayler Bruns, placed fifth in 11:54.23.

The Sprint Medley relay finished fifth with a time of 2:05.34 and the Distance Medley Relay would place sixth with a time of 5:00.61.

Jayme Penrod took fifth place in the long jump by leaping 13’10” and Kaity Degen finished sixth, jumping 13’6.25″. Teegan Olson would take fifth place in the discus, throwing the platter 89’7″ .

Kaitlin Weisbrod earned sixth place in the 400 meter dash with a 1:09.52 clocking and Shelby Brindley finished sixth in the 800 meter run with a time of 2:$5.80. Teegan Olson would finish seventh in the shot put, throwing 31’2″ and Jacque Carlson rounded out the efforts with a discus throw of 78’11” to place eighth in the competition.

The Lady E-Hawks will be the Girls’ Special at Spencer this Friday.
