Wuebker Earns MVP Honors In Pizza Ranch All Star Game
SIOUX?CENTER – Emmetsburg’s Nick Wuebker closed out his senior basketball season with a special honor at Saturday’s Pizza Ranch High School Baskteball All-Star Game at Dordt College in Sioux Center.
Wuebker, playing for the Black squad, was selected as the Black Squad’s Most Valuable Player following the game Saturday night. However, the Black squad came up short in a 102-93 loss to the White Team. The two squads were made up of senior players from the Lakes, Siouxland and War Eagle Conferences.
Wuebker scored 18 points and puttled down 19 rebounds for a double-double in the loss. The 6’9″ senior also blocked two shots in the contest,
After trailing by 14 points midway through the first half, the Black team narrowed the deficit to 10 points at the intermission, trailing 48-38. Wuebker would play a key role in helping the Black team claw their way back into the game, slamming down a dunk to cut the deficit to a point a 72-71 with five minutes to go in the game, but a 16-7 run by the White Squad would put the game out of reach.

Playing for the White Squad were Jacob Fiedler of Remsen Union; chas Biersy of South O’Brien; Distin Douma of Western Christian; Josh Van Kekerix of Sheldon; Bryce Marra of Boyden-Hull; Tyler Wolterstorff of Western Christian; Matt Westra of Western Christian; Dilan Moss of Western Christian; Paxton Strub if LeMars and David DenHerder of Western Christian.
