Lady Wolverines Earn Victories

WEST?BEND – The Lady Wolverines of West Bend-Mallard picked up a pair of victories in back-to-back games Thursday and Friday night.

In action Thursday night, the Lady Wolverines claimed a 58-48 win over Harris-Lake Park, buoyed by the 23 point effort of Jessica Fehr. Mackenzie Grimm added 11 points with Jessica Abrahamson chipping in eight points, McKenzie Banwart added seven points and seven rebounds, while Courtney Bargman added five points. Wendy Grimm rounded out the scoring with four point, while Kayla Banwart handed out seven assists, made five steals and grabbed five rebounds.

Friday night WBM traveled to Armstrong to take on the Mustangs of Armstrong-Ringsted and came home with a 62-33 triumph. After jumping out to a 14-6 lead, the Lady Wolverines led 30-20 at the half and doubled up the Mustangs, 48-24 to start the final quarter. Coach Eugene Ruppert went to the bench in the final quarter and the reserves preserved the big lead for the 62-33 lead.

Jessica Fehr led the offense with 22 points, with Jessica Abrahamson adding 13 points to the coffers. Mackenzie Grimm scored seven points and Kayla Banwart added six, while Wendy Grimm, Courtney Bargman and Sarah Mader each tallied four points. Haley Banwart rounded out the scoring with two points.
