Knights Fall To TRV Thunder
GRAETTINGER – Despite a strong start on Friday night, the Graettinger/Terril Knights had to fight to hang on to a 52-39 win over Twin River Valley Friday night.
Graettinger/Terril took a 17-5 lead after the opening quarter and led 30-14 at the intermission. But in the second half, the Knights saw Twin River Valley outscore them in the third quarter 15-9. The Knights held a 10-point, 39-29 lead at the end of the third quarter, but Graettinger/Terril would come up with the 52-39 final margin of victory.
“We played better in the first half than the second half,” noted GT?Head Coach Brent Dyhrkopp. “Our intensity just wasn’t there in the second half. We seemed to always be a step behind. We got good shots in the third and fourth quarter, but just couldn’t get them to go in.”
For the Knights, Beau Craig came away with 16 points, while Colin Leiting earned a double-double with 14 points and 10 rebounds.
Ty Bisenius tallied 13 points, while Mitch Girres scored four points, Garrett Parker added three points and Jesse Nissen added two points.
Defensively, the Knights got seven rebounds from Eric Hatland, Ty Bisenius and Mitch Girres, while Beau Craig added six boards.
“Twin River Valley played hard and out hustled us, especially in the second half,”?noted Dyhrkopp. “We passed the ball well in the first half for some easy baskets.”
