G/T?Knights Fall To HLP
TERRIL – Graettinger/Terril’s Knights opened the second half of the season with a 50-37 loss at the hands of Harris-Lake Park Tuesday night. The offense struggled with its’ shooting in the final quarter of the contest, which was played in Terril.
“We played fairly well for the first three quarters,” noted Graettinger/Terril coach Brent Dyhrkopp. “H-LP was able to hit shots in the fourth quarter and we didn’t.”
In the first game after the holiday break, the Knights were able to match the Wolves in scoring at 7-7. H-LP edged out to a 20-16 lead at halftime, but the margin remained the same as the Knights trailed 36-32 after three quarters. But in the final stanza, the Wolves outscored Graettinger/Terril 14-5 in the last minutes to disappoint the Knights.
Graettinger/Terril was paced by Mitch Girres’ 17 point effort. Beau Craig added 11 points, while Colin Leiting came away with nine to account for the Knights’ offense. Girres, Leiting and Craig also pulled down five rebounds each in the effort.
Graettinger/Terril will continue league play Friday when they host Woden-Crystal Lake-Titonka.
