GT?Girls Edged by CWL
CORWITH – It was an even battle for Graettinger/Terril and Corwith-Wesley-Luverne for three quarters, but the Knight girls would came up just shy in a 43-39 loss Friday.
The two teams were knotted at 8-8 after one quarter with CWL taking a 17-13 lead at the intermission. The Panthers would hold a three-point advantage at 27-24 to start the final quarter, and try as they might, the Knights could not erase the deficit and fell by the 43-39 final score.
Hailley Nelson would pace the Knight offense with 17 points and four steals, while Tiffany Harris added nine points to the effort.
Maddy Schany had six points and a team-high eight rebounds. Mariah Girres added four points and dished out five assists, while Brooke Hoffman had two points and Cassie Hampson scored one point.
“Despite early foul problems, the girls battled hard throughout the game,” said Graettinger/Terril Head Coach Roger Conway. “This caused concerns on the defense, especially with rebounding. I’m pleased to see our overall shooting percentage is improving.”
