Raiders Edged At Free Throw Line
RUTHVEN – Ruthven-Ayrshire’s Raiders found the going tough at the free throw line in a 57-48 loss to Woden-Crystal Lake-Titonka Friday night in boys basketball action.
The game was very even after the first quarter, when the Raiders trailed 13-7, but cut the deficit to a deuce at 25-23 at the intermission.
In the third quarter, Ruthven-Ayrshire cooled as the Tigers slipped out to a 43-36 advantage, but in the final quarter, the Raiders tried to fight back, only to be edged at the free throw line, coming up short by the 57-48 tally.
The Raiders were led by the double-double effort of Dylan Smith, who racked up 14 points and collected 14 rebounds on the night, with two steals and a pair of assists. Colton Bakken duplicated the effort with 12 points and 20 rebounds, along with an assist and a steal as well. Carter Williamson chipped in 11 points and four boards, while Trevin Enderson tallied five point and five boards with five helpers.
Kyle Toillion and Colyn Johnson both added three points to the final score.
