Raiders Come Up Short At WCLT
RUTHVEN – The Raider girls of Ruthven-Ayrshire battled hard in a 46-38 loss Friday night against Woden-Crystal Lake-Titonka.
Ruthven-Ayrshire struggled in the opening half on Friday, as WCLT took a 12-1 lead over the Raiders after the first quarter and extended their lead to 24-5 at the intermission.
The Raiders found their offense in the second half, outscoring WCLT 11-10 in the third quarter to make the score 34-16 going into the final quarter, where they matched their opponents bucket for bucket, but it was too little too late as they fell by the 46-28 final margin.
Sadie Forey would lead the Raider girls with 11 points, while Marly Bakken and Alesha Sikora both scored five points each. Keely Williamson added four points, while Paige Hoffman came away with three points.
Defensively, Marly Bakken grabbed five rebounds nd made two steals, while Caitlyn Reed collected three rebounds, dished out two assists and made one steal. Sadie Forey had two rebounds and Shyanne Zaragosa added two rebounds and dished out two helpers to her teammates.
