Raider Girls Fall At St. Mary’s
RUTHVEN – It was a tough outing Tuesday at Storm Lake St. Mary’s for the Ruthven-Ayrshire’s girls as they fell to St. Mary’s by a 51-29 score.
Ruthven-Ayrshire struggled to get the offense to flow well in the contest, but played well in the second quarter. However, St. Mary’s managed to apply some extra defensive pressure to the Raiders in the second half to earn the win.
For Ruthven-Ayrshire, Alesha Sikora would lead the offensive effort on the night, as she scored 15 points for Coach Trenton Keefer’s ball club.
Sadie Forey added five points to the tally, while Shyanne Zaragoza added three points. Keely Williamson came up with two points, as did Emily Moran and Marly Bakken.
Defensively, Ruthven-Ayrshire got four rebounds from Sadie Forey, while Caitlyn Reed pulled down three boards. Alesha Sikora, Emily Moran, Paige Hoffman and Marly Bakken all grabbed two rebounds, while Emily Moran handed out two assists and Caitlyn Reed made one. Reed picked off two passes and Alesha Sikora also had two steals in the effort.
