By Staff | Dec 9, 2010

GRAETTINGER – The Knights of Graettinger/Terril simply couldn’t out-shoot Clay Central-Everly in a matchup at Everly Tuesday night, as the Knights fell by a 65-38 tally to the Mavericks. Graettinger/Teriil falls to 1-2 overall with the loss.

The Knights were doubled up in the first quarter by the hot-shooting Mavericks, who took a 26-13 advantage after the opening stanza. Graettinger/Terril would close the margin to 17 in the second to trail 39-22, but continued to struggle to get their shots to drop in the second half. After trailing 54-33 at the end of the third quarter, the Knights could only score five points in the last eight minutes of the game to fall by the 65-38 final score.

Beau Craig would lead the offense with 18 points, while Cody Chapman added seven tallies to the effort. Colin Leiting and Ty Bisenius both scored four points, while Mitch Girres had three ponts and Jesse Nissen tallied two points.

“CCE?is a senior-dominated team who is tough to beat at home,” noted GT Head Coach Brent Dyhrkopp. “Our guys played hard regardless of the score. We also did a good job of beating their full court press.”
