By Staff | Dec 9, 2010

Emmetsburg will be well represented this weekend when Bethel University plays the University of Mount Union in the NCAA Division III Football Championship semi-finals.

Jesse and Josh Wolfe, former members of the Emmetsburg E-Hawk football program, are both players on the Bethel University football team that defeated the University of St. Thomas last Saturday, Dec. 3, in the Division III quarterfinals.

With the win, the Bethel Royals advance into the semi-final at Alliance, Ohio, to meet up with the University of Mount Union.

Bethel University finished the regular season with a record of 9-1. The Royals’ lone setback on the year came at the hands of St. Thomas back in October. Bethel University is a member of the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC)

Josh Wolfe also earned post-season recognition, as he was named to the MIAC All Conference Second Team for the season.

Josh Wolfe holds down the starting center’s position in the Bethel Offensive Line, while brother Jesse is the back-up noseguard for Bethel and also sees action on special teams.

The brothers are the sons of Jesse and Janice Wolfe of Emmetsburg.
