“Overall it was a good night for the girls,” noted Head Coach Jim Fisher. “The times were not all best season times but we had a good effort especially since we trailed both Charles City and Vinton by 13 points after four events and to come back like we did was good. We wanted to see if we could swim with Vinton as they are above us in the power rankings and we did a nice job of beating them. The best two races of the night was the 200 free relay finishing second and Abby Strohman in the 100 breast stroke finishing sixth but she beat seven girls with a better seed time than she had. She took five seconds off her time which for this time in the season is good.”
Next is the Regionals at Fort Dodge this Saturday, Oct. 30.
“We want to finish seventh or better,” Fisher noted. “The girls have had a good season with a 5-5 duel meet record and two good showings in the invitational they were in, getting a sixth and a third in the quadrangular.”
