Wolverines Win Big Over NSK

WEST?BEND – The Wolverines of West Bend-Mallard collected another dominating victory as they defeated North Sentral Kossuth by a 50-7 tally Friday night. The win keeps the Wolverines solidly in third place in Eight Man District Two behind district leader Armstrong-Ringsted and Graettinger.Terril, with Armstrong-Ringsted the foe for the Wolverines this Friday night in West Bend.

West Bend-Mallard’s ground game was punishing, with the Wolverines outgaining NSK by a nearly three-to-one margin in the contest. West Bend-Mallard racked up 306 yards on the ground and got another 105 passing yards for a 411 total yardage effort, compared with NSK’s 197 total yard effort.

Ryan Banwart would lead the attack with 125 yards rushing off 13 carries, while Greg Mader added 66 yards off six carries, including a pair of touchdowns from two yards and 22 yards out.

Mitch Bonnstetter would gain 61 yards off a half-dozen attempts, and scored off a 39 yard touchdown run. Bonnstetter would have success in the air, as he completed six of eight passes for 82 yards and three scores, as Jordan Knobloch, Dylan Zaugg and Sean Riesenberg all hauled in scoring throws.

Bonnstetter also caught a touchdown pass, a 26 yard reception from Ryan Banwart.

The defense played exceptionally well in the effort, as Ryan Banwart tallied seven tackles and five assists. Logan Streit made six tackles with seven assists, while Collin Thatcher and Dylan Zaugg both made five tackles and assisted on six stops.

Tanner Bruellman made four tackles and helped on seven assists and Matt Goeders tallied a pair of quarterback sacks and made four tackles in the winning effort.
