Raiders Fall To Armstrong-Ringsted

RUTHVEN – Taking on the defending state champions was a daunting task Friday night for the Ruthven-Ayrshire Raiders, who fell to the visiting Armstrong-Ringsted Mustangs by a 61-6 tally. The Raiders slipped to 2-4 in Eight-Man District Two and 3-5 overall as they enter the final week of the regular season.

The Raiders were reined in by the powerhouse Mustang defense, as they could only produce 142 yards of offense in the game. Trevin Enderson would score the only touchdown for the Raiders.

Michael Sundall led the offense with 40 yards on five carries, while Kyle Toillion added 38 yards off a dozen rushes. Cory Jordan gained 27 yards off four rushes, while Enderson added 24 yards on 10 carries.

Trevin Enderson attemted four passes with no completions for the Raiders in the setback, and would lead the Ruthven-Aryshire defense with six tackles. Grant Rehan added four stops, while Kyle Toillion, Dylan Smith and Carter Williamson all added three tackles to the effort. Carter Williamson and Logan Bowman both recovered fumbles for the Raiders in the contest.

Ruthven-Ayrshire will close out the regular season Friday night when they play host to Harris-Lake Park in Ruthven.
