Wolverines Bowl Over CWL

WEST?BEND – The Wolverines of West Bend-Mallard collected a 60-14 victory over Corwith-Wesley-LuVerne in action Friday night. The win improves the Wolverines to 6-1 overall and 5-1 in Eight Man District Two.

Jumping out to a 52-0 lead at the intermission, the issue was never in doubt Ryan Banwart would pace the Wolverine assault on Friday with a 75-yard kickoff return for a touchdown on the first play of the game. After setting the tone, Banwart would throw a touchdown pass to Mitch Bonnstetter, then caught a pass from Bonnstetter for a touchdown and ran in a touchdown of his own.

Mitch Bonnstetter would score off a catch of a pass from Banwart, as well as throwing a TD?pass to Banwart and then ran in two touchdowns of his own in the contest.

Collin Thatcher also ran in a touchdown in the winning effort for the purple and gold.

Defensivley, Tony Bruellman recorded two sacks on the night, while Matt Goeders and Dustin Johnson both added sacks to the effort. Other team leaders in the victory included Logan Streit, Tanner Bruellman, Ryan Banwart, Collin Thatcher, Dustin Johnson and Mitch Bonnstetter.

West Bend-Mallard will host North Sentral Kossuth in Eight Man District Two action this Friday night, Oct. 15.
