Lady E-Hawks Host Pink Out Game

On a night with a theme of highlighting awareness of breast cancer, Emmetsburg’s Lady E-Hawk volleyball team gave a valiant battle to Spencer before falling by a 3-2 score. The Lady E-Hawks fell in their Pink Out game by scores of 20-24, 25-19, 25-17, 10-25 and 11-15 to the Tigers to fall to 12-16 in games on the year.

In Tuesday’s contest, Emmetsburg work pink jerseys to commemorate the ongoing battle against cancer, and provided a battle of their own against the Tigers of Spencer.

There were several outstanding efforts for the Lady E-Hawks on the night, starting at the serving line, where Paige Naig completed 19 of 19 serves with a pair of aces, while Hannah Drost added 18 of 19 serves with four aces. Molli Schmeling chipped in 18 of 18 service completions with one ace and Nikki Schany made 16 of 17 serves with four aces. Nicole Leuer added nine of 10 serves and Hillary Pico chipped in eight of nine serves with an ace.

At the net, Nicole Leuer made 27 of 34 hits with 10 kills and Paige Naig added 27 of 32 hits with 10 kills. Chelsey Rouse would added 16 of 18 hits with six kills, while Morgan Vlasman made 12 of 21 hits with six kills and Miranda Vlasman chipped in 12 of 19 hits with four kills.

Hannah Drost dished out 34 assists and made four digs along with one hit, while Nicole Leuer added 14 digs and Hillary Pico made 13 digs. Molli Schmeling dug out 10 shots, while Paige Naig added six digs. Morgan Vlasman and Nikki Schany both had three digs and Chelsey Rouse added two digs, one assist and a solo block, while Morgan Vlasman and Paige Naig both had assist blocks.
