Lady E-Hawk Netters Blanked At Storm Lake
STORM LAKE – Emmetsburg’s Lady E-Hawks came close after a slow start in a conference vollebyall match with Storm Lake Tuesday night, falling 0-3 to the Tornadoes. Game scores wer 6-15, 23-25 and 23-25.
“We just weren’t ready to play in the first game,” noted Emmetsburg Head Coach Andrea Accola-Sabin. “We played much better in the second and third games but just came up short.”
Paige Naig would come away with 20 0f 25 hits with seven kills, and made a pair of assisted blocks, while digging out two shots and making eight of eight serves with an ace. Morgan Vlasman added 15 of 26 hits with five kills and dug out five shots.
Nicole Leuer made 12 of 15 hits with five kills and assisted on a pair of blocks, while digging out 11 shots on the night. Chelsey Rouse added 12 of 12 hits with four kills, while digging out three shots and assisting on one block, while dishing out an assist.
Miranda Vlasman added nine of 11 hits with a kill, a pair of assisted blocks and a dig to the effort, while Nikki Schany added one serve, one hit, an assisted block, two digs and handed out two set assists.
Hannah Drost would connect on nine of 10 serves, made one of two hits, dug out a shot and added 13 set assists in the match, while Halie Cody added eight of eight serves, three digs and six set assists. Molli Schmeling made eight of eight serves with one ace and dug out three shots.
Hillary Pico added seven of seven service completions and dug out eight shots on the night.
As a team, Emmetsburg made 52 of 53 serves but earned just two aces. At the net, the Lady E-Hawks had 70 of 92 hits with 22 kills, eight assisted blocks, 39 digs and 22 set assists.
