Swimmers Tune Up At Des Moines North

The Algona Girls Swim Team traveled to a meet this past Saturday at Des Moines North High School. No team scoring was kept at the meet, but the Algona swimmers came up with several good finishes.

The 200 yard Breaststroke team of Hannah Priest and Missy Zadow earned a second place finish with their effort to lead the Algona swimmers on the day.

The 200 Backstroke team of Nicole Person and Alyssa Williams would earn a fifth place finish, while the 200 Breaststroke team of Abby Stroman and Jordan Allen also finished in fifth place.

Alson earning a fifth place finish on Saturday was the 1000 Relay team, made up  of Michaela Christian and Nicole Kenne and the 400 Free Relay team of Kenne, Missy Zadow, Hannah Priest and Alyssa Williams.

Several sixth place finishes were earned by the girls, including the 200 Medley Relay squad, comprised of Missy Zadow, Hannah Priest, Alyssa Williams and Nicole Kenne,

The 200 Free Relay team, which is comprised of Missy  Zadow, Hannah Priest, Alyssa Williams and Kendra Roethler, also earned a sixth place finish at North.

“It was a different style of meet for the girls but they seemed to enjoy it said Coach Fisher.  "It was good to swim some different teams and see where we were timewise."

 Next up is a meet on Sept. 30 at Storm Lake.
