Lady E-Hawks Disappointed By Midgets
Emmetsburg’s Lady E-Hawks fell in a heartbreaking loss to Estherville Lincoln Central Thursday by scores of 25-16, 21-25, 12-25 and 22-25 to slip to 0-2 in league play.
“The girls played very hard and did not give up,” noted Head Coach Andrea Accola-Sabin. “We just need to improve on our hitting, Estherville was a very good blocking team and we had not seen that this year. We need to continue to work on our over all game.”
Paige Naig would garner 21 of 28 hits with nike kills and had 13 of 13 serves with an ace, along with two assisted blocks and a dig.
Nicole Leuer added 12 of 16 hits with four kills an d12 of 15 serves iwth two aces, and one assisted block and eight digs.
Morgan Vlasman had 15 of 26 hits with six kills and one assisted block while making five digs. Chelsey Rouse added 10 of 12 hits with two kills and four digs along with an assist, while Nikki Schany made 11 of 11 serves with an ace and three digs.
Miranda Vlasman had 13 of 17 hits with four kills, a dig and an assist, while Hannah Drost added 19 of 19 hits with one ace, four of four hits and a kill, eight digs and 21 assists to her teammates.
Molli Schmeling would chip in 12 of 13 serves with four digs and Hillary Pico added 10 of 10 serves with 13 digs for the Lady E-Hawks.
Emmetsburg returns to conference action tonight (Tuesday) with a trip to LeMars, and then play Saturday in the Humboldt Invitational Tournament.
