Raiders Open District With Win Over TRV

RUTHVEN – The Raiders of Ruthven-Ayrshire came up with a solid offensive and defensive effort in a 38-14 win over Twin River Valley in their district opener Friday night. Ruthven-Ayrshire improves to 2-1 on the young season and 1-0 in Eight Man District Two play.

However, the Raiders will face their toughest challenge of the season Friday night when they travel to Graettinger to meet up with the Knights of Graettinger/Terril in one of their inter-county rivalry games.

Against the Thunder on Friday night, Ruthven-

Ayrshire used its running game to lead to the victory, as the silver and black would pick up 267 yards on the ground off 35 rushing plays. Quarterback Trevin Enderson would gain 136 yards off 10 carries in the contest, and attempted three passes with no completions.

Kyle Toillion would handle the ball well for Ruthven-Ayrshire, picking up 89 yards  off his 18 carries. Michael Sundall ran the ball four times and gained 22 yards, while Colton Bakken had a carry for 15 yards.

Grant Rehan rushed once for three yards, while Garth Wolff added a carry for two yards in the contest.

Defensively, Kyle Toillion would make 18 tackles in the contest, while Colton Bakken added 14 stops, along with Logan Bowman. Grant Rehan made 11 tackles and Dylan Sith added 10 stops on the night.

Grant Rehan added an interception for 54 yards and scored a touchdown for the Raiders, while Trevin Enderson intercepted a pass for a six yard return i the win.
