Knights Earn 49-6 Victory Over NSK

GRAETTINGER – After taking a post-season victory over North Sentral Kossuth last season, the Knights of Graettinger/Terril were looking forward to Friday’s district opener against  NSK, and for good reason.  The Knights simply dominated North Sentral Kossuth in recording a 49-6 victory on Friday night. The win keeps Graettinger/Terril perfect on the year at 3-0 and 1-0 in Eight Man District Two.

Now, the task turns to preparing to host in-county rival Ruthven-Ayrshire in a contest this Friday night at Graettinger’s Evergreen Park.

Against North Sentral Kossuth, the Knights got a giant rushing game out of Nate Howard, as the senior ripped through the Eagles’ defense to rack up 258 yards off 28 rushes.

Quarterback Eric Hatland 16 yards off five carries on the night and Jeremiah Andrews added 12 yards from two rushes, while Trent Lundgren rushed twice to gain four yards and Heath Marchand added one carry for two yards.

All told, Graettinger/Terril picked up 292 yards off 38 rushes in the contest.

Through the air, Hatland connected on three of 12 passing attempts for 55 yards. Beau Craig collected  two catches for 27 yards and Colin Leiting added one reception for 28 yards in the effort.

Defensively, Graettinger/Terril was led by Ty Bisenius with 10 tackles, while Heath Marchand and Nate Howard both made seven tackles. Colin Leiting made six stops and Blaze Alesch and Eric Hatland both added five tackles, while Blaze Alesch had one interception for a 30 yard return and Mitch Girres recovered one fumble for the Knights.
