Raiders Fall In Season Debut

NEWELL – The season opened on a down note for the Ruthven-Ayrshire Raiders in a 53-7 loss to Newell-Fonda Friday night in non-district play.

The Raiders lone score came off a run from Michael Sundall, who would end up rushing the football six times for 35 yards in the contest. Kyle Toillion led the Raider’s ground game with 17 rushing attempts for 46 yards. Quarterback Trevin Enderson added 12 yards on seven carries in the contest. Enderson completed just one pass for six yards, with Cory Jordan making the lone reception.

At a team, Ruthven-Ayrshire came away with 75 yards of rushing offense and six yards passing for a total of 81 yards in the contest.

Kyle Toillion led the Ruthven-Ayrshire defense with 10 tackles in the efforts, while Michael Sundall and Garth Wolff both made seven tackles. Grant Rehan, Logan Bowman and Colton Bakken each added five tackles to the effort.
