Second place finishers were 4 & 1 with 1840 targets. Team members are John Moran, Roger Will, Dale Reed, Ken Poeppe, and Gary Klepper.
Finishing in third place were Bruchs, with 1835 targets. Team members included Mike Kollasch, Ryan Kollasch, Dan Reedy, Don Bruch, and Lance Bruch.
The Summer Mini-League started last night, July 28, and will run every Wednesday for 4 weeks at Sportsman’s Recreation Area north of Cylinder. This is an individual league, shooting 50 targets each night. The first two weeks will be shooting from the 16 yard line, and the last two weeks will be shooting international targets (from 17 yd line, two shots allowed, as targets will be thrown at various angles and heights).
The mini-league will conclude on August 18 with a cook-out and prizes awarded to participants. In addition to Wednesday evening league, open shooting for the public is offered at the trap range on Tuesdays and Thursdays starting at 4:30 p.m.
Mini-league scores can be recorded during open shooting times if schedules conflict, and league scores can be shot ahead or made up as time allows.
This league is open to shooters of all ages and various experience and skill levels. Informal trap shooting advice and safety instruction is available and will be eagerly provided to any novice shooters by Palo Alto Gun Club members on request.
This is the first season that trap league shooters were able to compete using the new walkways constructed this spring as a result of a grant from the Palo Alto Gaming Development Corporation awarded earlier this year. The Palo Alto County Conservation Board crew and Palo Alto Gun Club members have nearly completed grading and landscaping the area surrounding the new walkways.
Membership in the Palo Alto Gun Club is required for use of any of the shooting facilities at Sportsman’s Recreation Area. For more information contact Don Bruch at 852-3240, Roger Will at 852-2775, or Gary Klepper at 852-3630.
