Lady E-Hawks Qualifty Two Events For State Track

GARNER – Emmetsburg’s Lady E-Hawks earned qualifications for just two events at this week’s State Track and Field Championships at Friday’s Class 2A Regional meet in Garner.

Emmetsburg’s Shuttle Hurdle Relay Team will appear at the state meet in Des Moines this ?Thursday, along with Blake Schany in the 400 meter hurdle event by virtue of their finishing times at the regional meet.

The Shuttle Hurdle Meet, with Nicole Leuer, Katie Malm, Jordan Morris and Blake Schany, finished third at ?Garner with a time of 1:09.11, which was one of the top eight times in the state to qualify into the state meet. Alternates for the relay will be Jordan Kerber and Whitney Kibbie.

Blake Schany earned a second place finish in the 400 meter hurdle event on Friday night, as she turned in a time of 1:08.00 to qualify for the state meet and competition on Friday.

In the 100 meter dash, Jordan Kerber turned in a :13.28 time and finished third, and Morgan Vlasman placed seventh with a time of :13.54, but neither qualified for the state meet.

Morgan Vlasman would run a :28.63 in the 200 meter dash to finish in sixth place, while Kaitlin Weisbrod finished eighth in the 400 meter dash with a time of 1:07.91.

Rachael Moore placed seventh in the 800 meter run with a time of 2:32.89 and Shelby Brindley finished ninth with a time of 2:37.75 in the event. Rachael Moore turned in a time of 5:22.40 to place fourth in the 1500 meter run and Tayler Bruns was 11th in the event with a time of 5:55.03.

 In the 100 hurdles, Whitney Kibbie earned a 12th place finish with an effort of :17.34, while Jordan Morris was a tick behind with ?a :17.35 time for 13th place.

Emmetsburg’s 4×100 relay, with Jordan Kerber, Katie Malm, Maddison Woodruff and Nicole Leuer placed sixth overall with a :53.65 clocking, while the 4×200 relay, with Maddison Woodruff, Katie Malm, Kaity Degen and Morgan Vlasman, finished fourth overall with a time of 1:52.38.

In the 4×400 relay, the foursome of Shelby Brindley, Kaitlin Weisbrod, Whitney Kibbie and Blake Schany finished sixth with a time of 4:34.60.

The 4×800 relay with Molli Schmeling, Tayler Bruns, Kristi Wurzer and Caroline Flom, would finish eighth with a time of 11;24.86.

The Sprint Medley relay, with Jordan Kerber, Maddison Woodruff, Nicole Leuer and Kaity Degen would turn in a time of 1:58.22 to finish fourth, but would not qualify for the state meet. Such was the case for the Distance Medley relay, as the foursome of Maddison Woodruff, Nicole Leuer, Blake Schany and Rachael Moore finished third at the Regional with a 4:29.57 but did not earn a qualification to the state meet.

In field events, Morgan Vlasman earned a tie for sixth place by clearing 4’8”.  Hillary Pico placed 14th in the shot put, throwing 28’9.75”, while Kinsey Anderson placed 12th in the discus with a throw of 82’.
