Golf Seasons Wrap Up For Area Squads

Golf seasons ended for local golf squads on Friday in Boys Sectional Tournament play.

Graettinger/Terril and Ruthven-Ayrshire ended their seasons in the Class 1A Sectional at Spencer on Friday, finishing fourth and ninth, respectively.

Playing at the Gruis Recreation Center near Buffalo Center, Bishop Garrigan of Algona took the top honors at the Class 1A Sectional with a 324 stroke total. Harris-Lake Park would finish second with a 363.

Graettinger/Terril turned in a team total of 380  strokes to finish in fourth place.

Leading the way for the Knights was Cody Dyhrkopp with rounds of 42 and 45 for an 87 stroke total, while Blaze Alesch added round of 49 and 43 for a 92 stroke total. Ryan Schany carded a 46 and a 47 for a 93, while Mitch Girres shot rounds of  56 and 52 for a 108. Tanner Naig added rounds of 53 and 56 for a 109 stroke total and Zach Harris carded a 56 and a 55 for a 111 stroke total for the Knights.

Ruthven-Ayrshire’s Raiders carded a 443 stroke total to earn the ninth place in the Sectional.

Ryan Sikora led the Raiders with his rounds of  54 and 51 for a 105, while Logan Fischer shot rounds of 56 and 5 3 for a 109. Dylan Fischer carded rounds of 54 and 57 for a 111 stroke total, while Stephan Thompson shot a 53 and 65 for a 118. Brecken Stukey carded a 64 and 59 to total a 123 and Trevor Halder carded rounds of 58 and 71 for a 129 stroke total.
