Earn Trio Of All Conference Players

OKOBOJI – Emmetsburg’s Lady E-Hawks endured the most miserable playing conditions of the season Monday at the 2010 Lakes Conference Girls Golf Tournament, and ended up as the runner-up to Spirit Lake in the event. However, Emmetsburg captured the meet medalist honors on the day, and earned three All Conference honors for players from the event.

“The girls played as well as one could expect under horrific conditions,”?noted Emmetsburg Head Coach Ted Riley. “The wind and the raid just bothered everybody, but our girls gave their best efforts in spite of the weather.”

Emmetsburg’s Janna Hoch would win the Medalist honors on the day, shooting a first-round 38 and a 45 in the second round at Okoboji Vu to post a final score of 83, edging Spirit Lake’s Maureen Owens, who shot an 84.

Under the Lakes Conference format, the lowest eight scorers were accorded All Conference recognition.

Janna Hoch would lead the All Conference team, and was joined on the elite squad by her sister Jenny Hoch and teammate Megan Myers.

Emmetsburg’s scoring had Janna Hoch with rounds of 38 and 45 for her 83, while Jenny Hoch shot rounds of 47 and 44 to total a 91. Megan Myers added rounds of 52 and 47 for a 99, while Hannah Drost carded a 54 and 55 for a 109. Lauren Zimmerman shot a 59 and a 52 for a 111 total and Krista Peaslee added rounds of 54 and 59 for a 113 stroke total.
