Lady Wolverines Second At Emmetsburg
West Bend-Mallard/Twin River Valley’s Lady Wolverines earned second place at the Emmetsburg Lady E-Hawk Relays last Thursday, finishing just seven points behind West Hancock in the team standings.
The Lady Wolverines collected a handful of first place finishes, starting with Missy Abrahamson in the shot put and discus. Abrahamson won the shot put with a throw of 37’3” and then took the discus competition with a throw of 116’1” and Brooke Bennett earned first place in the 3000 meter run with a time of 12:45.05.
Bennett came back to capture second place in the 1500 meter run with a time of 6:09.79, while Kenzie Grimm took second place honors in the 200 meter dash with a time of :28.24. Sara Foley finished second in the 3000 meter run in a time of 13:25.31, while Jessica Abrahamson finished second in the shot put with a throw of 36’1” her personal best effort. Haley Hiscocks also set a personal best in the discus with her throw of 91’7”, which was also good for a second place finish.
The Lady Wolverines’ 4×200 relay, with Meredith Collins, Kaley Lempke, Shayla Simms and Kenzie Grimm, took second place with a time of 1:53.52, while the Sprint Medley Relay, with Jenny Auten, Megan Foth, Wendy Grimm and Amanda Frieden, finished second in 2:05.75 and the 4×100 relay, with Meredith Collins, Kaley Lempke, Shayla Simms and Kenzie Grimm, finished second in :53.25.
The Distance Medley Relay, comprised of Shayla Simma, Kenzie Grimm, Amanda Frieden and Brooke Bennett, finished third in 4:48.33. Meredith Collins took third in the 200 meter dash in :28.32, while Sara Foley was third in the 1500 meter run in a time of 6:30.79 and Kaley Lempke took third in the 100 meter dash in a time of :13.63.
Kaylee Lanus earned fourth in the long jump, leaping 13’10.5 for a new personal record effort. Wendy Grimm took fourth in the 400 meter dash with a :69.31 clocking, while Sarah Berte finished fourth in the 800 meter run in 2:58.85 and Bailey Cavanaugh finished fourth in the 400 hurdles with a time of :79.1.
The 4×800 relay, with Erin Larsen, Sarah Berte, Cassie Schneider and Haley Hiscocks, took fourth in a time of 12:12.34, while the Shuttle Hurdle Relay, with Bailey Cavanaugh, Jamie Klepper, Elsie How and Kayla Banwart finished with a 1:23.92 to take fourth place, while the 4×400 relay, with Missy Abrahamson, Kaylee Lanus, Megan Foth and Kayla Banwart, took fourth in a time of 4:55.45.
Elsie How took fifth in a time of :90.10 in the 400 hurdles, while Erin Larsen was fifth in the 800 meter run in 3:)8.92 and Kaylee?Lanus finished the 400 dash in a time of :69.8 for a fifth place finish and Jenny Auten placed sixth in the 100 meter dash in a time of :14.33 to round out the placings.
