Lady Wolverines Take Second in Cornbelt Conference Golf

West?Bend-Mallard’s Lady Wolverines duplicated their male counterparts in taking second place in the Cornbelt Conference girls golf meet Monday. ?North Sentral Kossuth took the team championship honors in the tournament.

First Team All Conference honors went to West Bend Mallard’s Nicole Gearhart,  while Mackenzie Banwart and Brooke Bennett earned Second Team honors along with Ruthven Ayrshire’s Megan Alexander.

Morgan Jahr of North Sentral Kossuth was the medalist with a 93, while Twin River Valley’s Cassidy Cirks was runner up with a round of 98

For West Bend-Mallard, Nicole Gearhart led the effort with a 109, while Brooke Bennet shot a 112 and Mackenzie Banwart added a 113. Natalie Forsythe shot a round of 117, while Sarah Mader carded a 137 and Kara Vanderhorst shot a round of 145 for the 452 stroke team total.

For Ruthven-Ayrshire, Megan Alexander led the effort with a 131, while Kayla Dyer shot a 135 and Kara Gerdeman shot a 147 to tally a 629 with just three players.
