Lady E-Hawk Golfers Win Triangular, Place Fourth At Spring Valley

ESTHERVILLE?- Solid rounds of golf on Monday gave the Emmetsburg Lady E-Hawks a resounding win over Cherokee and ELC in a Lakes Conference triangular at Estherville. Emmetsburg won with a 189 tally, while Cherokee finished with a 206 and ELC?carded a 250.

Emmetsburg’s Jenny Hoch earned the medal honors Monday with her round of 44, while her sister Janna was the runner-up with a 48.

The remainder of the Emmetsburg scoring saw Lauren Zimmerman card a round of 48. Ashley Pelzer turn in a 51 on her first varsity start, while Krista Peaslee shot a 56 and Megan Myers carded a 58.

Emmetsburg also won the Junior Varsity match, defeating Cherokee 231-259. Hannah Drost was low with a 50 for the JV. Other scoring included Nikki Schany with a 59, Amanda Pugh with a 60, Paige Naig with a 62, Amanda Walters with a 68 and Chelsey Rouse with a 73.

The Lady E-Hawks played over the past weekend in the Bishop Garrigan Invitational on Saturday, May 1, at Spring Valley Country Club at Livermore. Emmetsburg would earn a fourth place finish overall in the event, finishing behind ?hosts Bishop Garrigan, Clear Lake and Algona.

For Emmetsburg, Jenny Hoch finished in the top ten individuals of the event with her rounds of 51 and 44 for a 95 stroke total.

Janna Hoch turned in rounds of 47 and 51 for a 98 stroke total, while Krista Peaslee carded rounds of 51 and 54 for a 105.

Megan Myers shot a 56 and a 55 for a 111 total, while Lauren Zimmerman shot a 61 and 50 for a 111 total as well. Rounding out the efforts was Hannah Drost, who shot a 55 and a 62 to tally a 117 stroke total.
