Lady E-Hawks Strong At Spencer

SPENCER  – Even though no points were kept, Emmetsburg’s Lady E-Hawks had an excellent day last Friday in a girls’ special at Spencer. The Lady E-Hawks picked up five first place efforts in the competition as they continue to work towards the  May 14 District/Regional Track meet.

Leading the way for Emmetsburg on Friday was the Shuttle Hurdle Relay, which finished in a time of 1:10.28 to win the event.

Individually, Emmetsburg got a first from Nichole Hasbrouck in the discus, as she threw the platter 100’7”. Morgan Vlasman won the high jump, clearing 4’8” for the top prize. Blake Schany turned in a 1:09.10 time to win the 400 hurdle event and Rachael Moore captured first place in the 1500 meter run with her time of 5:32.37.

Jordan Kerber would finish second in the 100 meter dash with a time of :13.47, while Shelby Brindley finished second in the 800 meter run with a time of 2:42.63. Emmetsburg’s 4×200 relay also picked up second place honors, finishing in a time of 1:54.71.

The 4×800 relay squad would earn a third place finish on Friday with a time of 12:00.26, while the Sprint Medley Relay took third in 2:01.69. The 4×100 relay was third in :54.04 and the 4×400 relay placed third in a time of 4:39.36.

Also finishing third for the Lady E-Hawks was Whitney Kibbie, with a time of :18.335 in the 100 hurdles. Rachael Moore also finished third for Emmetsburg in the 800 meter run with a time of 2:45.61.

Nicole Leuer would finish in fourth place in the long jump with a leap of 14’5”, while Morgan Vlasman also earned a fourth place finish in the 100 meter dash with a time of :13.06.

Emmetsburg also got a fifth place finish in the discus from Kinsey Anderson, who threw the discus 78’3”. Shelby Brindley would finish fifth in the high jump, clearing 4’2”  and Tayler Bruns finished fifth in the 1500 meter run with a time of 5:57.39.

Hillary Pico placed sixth in the shot put with a throw of 29’5.5”, while Kaitlin Weisbrod finished sixth in the 400 meter dash with a time of 1:09.47. Whitney Kibbie was sixth in the 200 meter dash with a time of :31.12 and the 4×200 relay would finish sixth with a time of 2:03.70 to round out Emmetsburg’s performances.

The Lady E-Hawks return to action this afternoon (Tuesday)?at Spirit Lake and then return home on Thursday to host their own Emmetsburg Lady E-Hawk Relays.
