E-Hawks Third At Clint Stille E-Hawk Relays
Emmetsburg’s E-Hawks gave good efforts as they finished third in the Clint Stille E-Hawk Relays on ?Tuesday. Algona would take the team championship with 196 points, while Spirit Lake Park finished second with 150 points. Emmetsburg was third with 85 points, while Bishop Garrigan finished fourth with 66 points and Estherville Lincoln Central was sixth with 48 points.
Leading the way for Emmetsburg on Tuesday was Ryan Kliegl, who won the high jump by clearing 5’8”. Jake Morris would earn second place in the 110 high hurdles, finishing in :15.92, while teammate Joey Naig was ticks behind in third place with a :16.13 effort.
Emmetsburg’s Shuttle Hurdle Relay squad took second in 1:00.92 and the 4×200 relay picked up second place with a 1:36.58 clocking.
The 4×100 relay would earn third place honors, finishing with a :46.29 time and Cory Schultes earned a third place finish in the 200 meter dash in a time of :23.99 and also finished fourth in the 100 meter dash in :11.71.
Joey Naig earned fourth place in the 400 meter hurdles with a time of :59.56. Jared Janssen took fourth in the high jump, clearing 5’4” and Brady Berkland placed fourth in the long jump, leaping 18’10.5”.
The E-Hawks’ 4×400 relay took fourth in 3:58.67, and the 4×800 relay earned a fifth place finish with a time of 9:35.83. The Distance Medley also placed fifth, turning in a time of 4:18.51. Brady Berkland was fifth in the 100 meter dash in :11.85 and Jared Janssen finished fifth in the 400 meter dash with a time of :56.67, while Justin Studer finished sixth in :57.19.
Jared Janssen earned sixth in the 800 meter run with a time of 2:18.47 and Jake Morris was sixth in the long jump, leaping 18’7”. Zach Overburg finished sixth in the 1600 meter run with a time of 5:23.37 and Austin Oppenheimer took seventh in the 400 hurdles with a time of 1:03.03.
Bobby Gappa finished seventh in the 800 meter run with a time of 2:19.95, while Jacob Hutchinson finished eighth in the discus, throwing the platter 103’2”. Tyler Henderson would finish eighth in the shot put with a throw of 38’10” and Arik Kerr finished tenth in the shot put by throwing 34’.
