Lady Wolverines Running Well In Recent Events
WEST?BEND – The Lady Wolverines of West Bend-Mallard/Twin River Valley continue to run well in recent meets, including performances at Armstrong on april 19 and a second place finish at Manson last Thursday.
At Armstrong on April 19, the Lady Wolverines set a pair of new sharing records and got a pair of first place finishes. Missy Abrahamson won the discus with a throw of 111’2” and the shot with a heave of 36’1”, while Haley Banwart set a personal best shot throw of 30’.
The 4×400 relay, with Missy Abrahamson, Erin Larsen, Kaylee Lanus and Kayla Banwart was third with a 4:44.13 and the Distance Medley, with Jenny Auten, Wendy Grimm, Kayla Banwart and Erin Larsen, took third in 4:54.91.
Amanda Frieden was third in the 400 dash in :68.69 while the 4×200, with Meredith Collins, Wendy Grimm, Kaley Lempke and Kenzie Grimm took fourth in 1:55.23.
Kayla Banwart was fifth in the long jump at 13’3”, while the Shuttle Hurdle Relay, with Kayla Banwart, Elsie How, Jamie Klepper and Melanie vote, took fifth in 1:26.08. The 4×100 relay, with Jenny Auten, Wendy Grimm, Kaley Lempke and Kenzie Grimm was fifth in :55.74 and Kenzie Grimm took fifth in the 200 dash with a :28.41 effort.
Erin Larsen set a new Sharing Record of 2:42.81 in the 800 run as she finished sixth and the Sprint Medley, with Jenny Auten, Jamie Klepper, Kaley Lempke and Amanda Frieden, was sixth in 2:10.53. Elsie How also set a new sharing record in the 100 hurdles with a time of :19.06.
At last Thursday’s Emily Markert Relays at Manson, the Lady Wolverines were second as the only 1A school in a 2A class.
Once again, Missy Abrahamson won both the shot and discus, heaving the shot 35’7.5” and throwing the platter 118’5”. Brooke Bennett captured the 3000 meter run, winning in a time of 12:27.13 and Kenzie Grimm won the 200 meter dash with a :27.10 effort, a new personal best and sharing mark.
The 4×400 relay, with Missy Abrahamson, Erin Larsen, Amanda Frieden and Kenzie Grimm, took second in a time of 4:35.21, while the Sprint Medley, with Jenny Auten, Missy Abrahamson, Kayla Banwart and Kaylee Lanus, also took second in 2”06.89. The Distance Medley, with Jenny Auten, Megan Foth, Kaylee Lanus and Erin Larsen, earned second in a time of 4:53.18 and the 4×200 relay, with Shayla Simms, Kaley Lempke, Meredith Collins and Kenzie Grimm set a new sharing record and new Thunder record with a time of 1:52.17.
The 4×100 relay, with Shayla Simms, Megan Foth, Kaley Lempke and Kenzie Grimm set a new sharing and Thunder record with a time of :53.37, while Brooke Bennett was third in the 1500 meters in 5:52.18 and Erin Larsen took third in the 800 meter run in 2:45.88.
Amanda Frieden earned third in the 400 dash with a time of 67.57 and Shayla Simms was third in the 100 meter dash with a :13.40 effort, while Haley Hiscocks was third in the discus, throwing 90’10”, a new personal best.
Amanda Frieden was fourth in the high jump, clearing 4’6”, while the 4×800 relay, with Frieden, Sarah Berte, Cassie Schneider and Kayla Banwart, was fourth in 11:58.35.
The Shuttle Hurdle Relay, comprised of Bailey Cavanaugh, Jamie Klepper, Elsie How and Melanie Vote, took fourth with a time of 1:23.20.
Sarah Berte was fifth in the800 meters in 13:41.16 and Hale Hiscocks took fifth in the shot with a new personal best of 30’5.25”, while Kaley Lempke was fifth in the 100 dash in :13.78.
Kaylee Lanus also set a new personal record in the long jump, leaping 13’5.5”
