Lady Wolverines Earn Good Times

SPENCER – The West Bend-Mallard/Twin River Valley Lady Wolverines placed third at Friday’s Spencer Girls Invitational track and field meet behind Sioux Central and Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn.

“I am very pleased with our performance,” noted WBM/TRV?Head Coach Jamie Fehr. “Sioux Central and HMS are both 2A schools that competed with the 1A division.  Although we are a 1A team, we competed well against them and kept up well with them in team scoring.”

Leading the way for the Lady Wolverines was Missy Abrahamson in the shot, throwing 36’5” and taking first in the discus with a throw of 117’11”.

Kenzie Grimm would take second in the  200 meter dash with a :27.91 effort, and Bailey Cavanaugh was second in the  100 hurdles with a time of :19.98.

The shuttle hurdle relay, with Bailey Cavanaugh, Kaylee Lanus, Elsie How and Kayla Banwart, took second in a time of 1:25.62 and the 4×200 relay, with Shayla Simms, Megan Foth, Meredith Collins and Kenzie Grimm was second with a 1:55.66. the 4×100 relay, with Shayla Simms, Megan Foth, Kaley Lempke and Kenzie Grimm, also took second with a :55.14 effort and the distance medley relay, with Elsie How, Jenny Auten, Kaylee Lanus and Erin Larsen, finished second in a time of 5:00.79.

Brooke Bennett was third in the 3000 meters in 12:29, while the 4×800, with Sarah Berte, Cassie Schneider, Wendy Grimm and Megan Foth, took third with a time of 121:19.82 effort.

The Sprint medley, with Jenny, Auten, Missy Abrahamson, Kaley Lempke and Kayla Banwart, was third in 23:11.21 and the 4×400 relay, with Missy Abrahamson, Kenzie Grimm, Erin Larsen and Kaylee Lanus, took third in 4:46.52.

Elsie How finished third in the 100 hurdles with a :20.06 time, while Haley Hiscocks took fourth in the discus with a throw of 86’7”?a new person record.

Shayla Simms tied for fourth in the 100 dash with a :131.58 and Wendy Grimm was fourth in the 400 dash with a :71.77 effort while Baily Cavanaugh took fourth in the 400 hurdles with a :79.89 time.

Haley Hiscocks took fifth in the shot put with a throw of 28’4” and Kaley Lempke took fifth in the 100 dash with a :13.4 time, while Kayla Banwart was fifth in the 400 Dash in :72.83 and Meredith Collins took fifth in the 200 dash with a time of :28.53 for the Lady Wolverines.
