Lady E-Hawks Perform Well At Spencer Invite

SPENCER – Emmetsburg’s Lady E-Hawks ran well at the Spencer Invitational on Friday, collecting a fourth place team finish.

Leading the way was the winning effort of Blake Schany in the 400 hurdles with a time of 1:10.17. The Lady E-Hawks got several third place finishes, starting with Morgan Vlasman in the high jump, clearing 4’8” to tie for third, while Jordan Kerber was third in the 100 meter dash with a :13.19 effort. Nicole Leuer was third in the 100 hurdles with a time of :16.71.

The 4×800 relay, with Molli Schmeling, Tayler Bruns, Kristi Wurzer and Caroline Flom, was third in 11:53.01, while the shuttle hurdle relay, with Jordan Morris, Katie Malm, Blake Schany and Nicole Leuer, took third with a time of 1:11.50. The Sprint Medley, with Jordan Kerber, Nicole Leuer, Maddison Woodruff and Kaity Degen, was third in 1:59.64, while the 4×100 relay, with Kerber, Malm, Woodruff and Leuer, finished third in :53.52 and the 4×400 relay, with Shelby Brindley, Kaitlin Weisbrod, Molli Schmeling and Blake Schany, finished third in 4:40.92.

Nichole Hasbrouck finished fourth in the discus, throwing 106’1” and Jordan Morris was fourth in the 100 hurdles with a :17.30 time.  The Distance Medley relay, with Brindley, Whitney Kibbie, Schany and Rachael Moore, took fourth with a 4:41.62 effort and the 4×200 relay, with Woodruff, Malm, Degen and Vlasman, finished fourth in 1:55.29.

Kaitlin Weisbrod was fifth in the 400 meter dash with a 1:12.05 time, while Morgan Vlasman finished fifth in the 200 meter dash in :28.90, while Rachael Moore was fifth in the 1500 meter run with a time of 5:32.59. Rounding out the varsity placings was Kaity Degen with a sixth place finish in the long jump, leaping 13’4.25”.

In Junior Varsity action, Whitney Kibbie won the 100 meter hurdles with a time of :17.53 and the 4×100 relay, with Kibbie, Aly Berven, Hannah Priest and Vlasman, took first with a time of:56.54.

Aly Berven took third in the 100 hurdles with an :18.11 clocking, and Britni Will placed fourth in the discus, throwing 64’3”. The 4×200 relay, with Hillary Pico, Tayler Bruns, Nichole Hasbrouck and Hannah Priest, finished fourth in 2:06.4 and Anna Morris rounded out the efforts with a fifth place finish in the discus, throwing the platter 62’6”.
