Lady E-Hawk Golfers Open Season With Wins

Emmetsburg’s Lady E-Hawk golf team took to the links on Monday to open their season in solid fashion, earning a win over Storm Lake in a Lakes Conference dual. Tuesday, the Lady E-Hawks claimed a win over Pocahontas Area/Pomeroy-Palmer in a non-conference matchup.

At Storm Lake’s Lake Creek Country Club on Monday, Emmetsburg tallied a 189-246 win over the Tornadoes, who played with just four players.

Emmetsburg’s Janna Hoch claimed the medalist honors with a round of 46. Teammates Hannah Drost and Jenny Hoch tied for the runner-up honors, with both golfers shooting rounds of 47.

Other Lady E-Hawk scores included Megan Myers with a 49, while Krista Peaslee shot a 51 and Lauren Zimmerman added a round of 54 to the tally.

Tuesday night the Lady E-Hawks traveled to Pocahontas and earned a 192-245 victory over the Maidens, who also played with just four players.

Jenny Hoch claimed medalist honors Tuesday with her round of 45, while Megan Myers was the runner-up with a 49.

Janna Hoch and Hannah Drost both shot rounds of 49 for Emmetsburg, while Krista Peaslee shot a 51 and Lauren Zimmerman carded a 58.

Coach Ted Riley’s Lady E-Hawks will take the rest of the week off, but resume play on Monday, April 19, when they host Spencer and Spirit Lake at the Five Island Golf Course in Emmetsburg for a key Lakes Conference triangular.
