E’Hawks Still In Hunt For Medals

All three of the Emmetsburg/Armstrong-Ringsted/Ruthven-Ayrshire E’Hawk wrestlers are in the hunt for medals at the 2010 Iowa State Wretsling Championships.

The E’Hawks’ leading hope, Skyler Rice, fell out of the championship side of the bracket Friday afternoon at 135 pounds when he lost a semi-final match to Kyle Paulsen of Wilton.Next up for Rice will be a match with Josh Schaefer of Odeboldt-Arthur/Battle Creek-Ida Grove.

At 160 pounds, E’Hawk senior Joey Naig ran afoul of Will Hansen of Waterloo Columubs and lost a decision, which drops Naig into the seventh place match on Saturday against Kyle Lux of Tama.

And at 189 pounds, Jake Morris stayed alive in the consolation bracket Friday afternoon with a decision win over Spencer Lueders of Northeast Goose Lake. Next up for Morris will be a match against Sam Upah of East Marshall.
